He watched her intently the entire time Jocelyn prepared the spell, waiting as she held the Sidhe knife and looked to the wall. Just before she began speaking the powerful words, Azazeal silently intoned a spell of his own, casting a shield around them and the room. Nothing that would hinder the parting of the veil that Jocelyn was attempting, and which he had no doubt she would succeed, but would render the power in the room undetectable to any one else in the house. He was not in the least bit keen on explaining what he had encouraged and started in her daughter to Faelyn.

In front of her, his gaze looked through the bright, rich blue fissure that was opening before them both and into the young woman on the other side. He said nothing, knowing not to do anything to break her concentration. The breeze that came through the opening also lifted the ends of his hair as it grew stronger. And he waited, waited to see what Jocelyn would do with what she had opened up.
